is the feast where we acquire new hungers-for God and for what God desires-and are then sent into His creation to act accordingly.
You Are What You Love, James. K. A. Smith
The Lord gave Father Carl a burden and a vision for an evangelical, sacramental, and liturgical church 30 years ago. After many years and with much prayer, Christ the King Church was started in 2009. Then after a three-year partnership with the Charismatic Episcopal Church, Christ the King became a part of the CEC.
We are a unique little congregation. The best way to see what makes us and the way we worship so different, is to come see us! Maybe when you visit, you will encounter Jesus in a new way and maybe we are a stop in your journey. Either way, we welcome you to come!

Our Priest
Father Michael Carl is the Priest at Christ the King Church. As a United States Army Veteran, Fr. Mike spent 3 of his 6 years in the service, stationed in Okinawa, Japan. Feeling called to reach the Japanese people with the Gospel, he acquainted himself with the culture and learned some conversational Japanese. He is happily married to Yasue (yah-soo-ay) and has 2 sons. In addition to preaching at Christ the King, Fr. Mike also works as a teacher at a local Christian academy, he has been a journalist and a freelance writer, providing content online as well as in print. He’s an extremely gifted teacher, humble leader, well loved and highly respected by many – but he will be the first to say: “Thanks be to God!” It’s all about Jesus. You may contact Fr. Mike directly if you wish.
Our Worship Leader
Gene Shalvey is a gifted young man and musician, happily married to Caitie (greeter). Gene loves music and the Lord and that shines through his worship set each week. When he’s not singing with us he just may be playing in his band. You may feel free to reach out to Gene with any questions you may have about worship at Christ the King.
While the space that we occupy may not be bright and cheery on its own, we are graced with some colorful floral arrangements by our own talented Emily Pica. Here are some arrangements you will only see here on this website. Enjoy!
